80-20 National Asian American PAC is honored to announce our endorsement of both the Candidacy of Andrew Yang and Tulsi Gabbard through the 2020 Iowa and New Hampshire Primaries. If the candidates do as well as we expect them to, we will reconvene to give them further support.
As of today, according to Ballotpedia, Eighteen (18) notable elected officials and public figures (both D and R) have entered the 2020 Presidential Race.
The 80-20 PAC Board of Directors have carefully studied this year’s unique situation and have decided to get involved early in both the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries, rather than our customary two months before the general elections. Thus we have moved our time frame (earlier) to March 2019 instead of our (later) November-December 2019 endorsement.
There are two primary reasons for this move, we have two excellent Asian American candidates that we can heartily endorse and, the election cycle has realistically started right after the 2018 midterm election. The present administration has taken our country on a different (controversial) direction and many of our citizens are actively debating whether to change this course.
It is important to note that both candidates have answered our questionnaire on five important areas .
- Enforcement of DOL Executive Order 11246
- Eliminating discrimination in College Admissions
- Equal Opportunity in Judiciary
- Eliminating Xenophobia
- Reviewing mid-term Progress with prominent Asian Americans
80-20 National Asian American PAC does not expect nor want special treatment, we just ask all Presidential Candidates to be fair and treat us as “just any other” Americans.
